Teresa Steinbach-Garcia
A native Californian and a design graduate of the University of California at Davis, I work in a painterly realistic style to record my world be it landscape, still life or portrait.
Inspired by artists as varied as Andrew Wyeth and Kim Lordier I combine a background in watercolor with a new interest in pastels to capture the nuance of light and place, and interpret impressions of the man made and nature-made worlds.
I worked in both The Graphic Design and Fine Art world before devoting much of my energy to raising a family on 5 acres in the rural countryside of Wilton California. Raising kids, growing crops, tending a small orchard and observing the intricacies of a praying Mantis, the last light on a neighbors Barn on a cold winter Evening to the translucency of a dried Tomatillo husk makes for a rich life!. With the independence of my children I'm Teaching, Creating and Embracing the World of Art again.
